The book of Galatians has often been considered a companion letter to the book of Romans. The message regarding justification by faith is strong in both books but the tone of Galatians is quite different from Romans. Paul expresses his frustration in the Galatian believers who have quickly turned from faith in Jesus’ work on the cross and resorted to adopting the old Jewish covenant as their source of justification. Paul uses his own testimony and argues from the old covenant to show how faith has always been the way that God justifies humanity. It is only by this kind of faith that we can ever expect to live the way God has intended for us.
