The book of Colossians presents Jesus as the Creator and Redeemer of all things. He has pre-eminence over every name and being that exists. He is the Head of the body of Christ and is to be worshiped alone. No other philosophy, system of religion or ideology is to compete with Him in our lives. Because of this Paul embraced his sufferings as an offering to God and exhorts the believers to stay true to the faith they received from him.
